Baramulla, August 24:At least four residential houses were destroyed in a fire in the Karmohallah Lal Bab Saheb Arampora area of ​​North Kashmir in Sopore here on Wednesday.

The fire started in an apartment house and engulfed neighboring houses in no time.

A police official said that about 9 families resided in these four houses.

Deputy director of fire and emergency services Abdul Khaliq told Rising Kashmir that four residential houses were destroyed in a fire in a dense area of ​​Sopore.

“Fire crews along with local residents extinguished the flames in no time. Four firefighters and four water engines were used to extinguish the flames. However, being neck and neck and in a congested locality, the fire engulfed the houses in no time. In this incident, one house was completely gutted while three houses were partially gutted,” Abdul Khaliq said.

He further stated that no loss of life was reported in the incident.

“The fire happened due to a short circuit. The houses belonged to Aijaz Ahmad Ahanger, Ghulam Rasool Najar, Javed Ahmad Ahanger and Nisar Ahmad Ahanger,” he added.
